Raymond Saunders and Huma Bhabha at David Zwirner visited March 13, 2024

Post by admin »

The first exhibition is a painting. Raymond Saunders from even 60-ties if I recall correctly. The exhibition titled Post No Bills, consists of quite beautiful abstract searches. Most of the huge canvases are dominated by black color with avid accents of patterns and insertions of reproduced artworks, quite in Jasper Johns fashion, and Julian Schnabel/Jean Michel Basquiat recalling wording in white chalk. Well, very well-composed and conceived abstraction. And Huma Bhabha presented a survey of Egyptian, Assyrian, and tribal art-inspired contemporary sculpture. Quite impressive too.
