Supply and Demand like anywhere else

This is a forum dedicated to discussing the value of various art objects and the reliability of investments in art. It is also a place to exchange experiences in art collecting, auctions, and private sales. Many years ago, an artist was worth $50; today, he is worth $100. How much can he be worth in a few years, and how can even one but very focused market participant change this? Opinions.

Supply and Demand like anywhere else

Only rare art of a high mastery and special, unique, distinctive qualities, quite rolled by the media and internet could be evaluated to be potentially worth top dollars. Or art that historically showed the same rare mastery, and desired by collectors qualities, historical art that already gained acceptance and commanded strong sales. Or art that has the potential to show the same qualities. Other art, unfortunately, does not command high prices.
