Lynette Yiadom Boakye?

Post by Beatriz »

Why did her quite basic portraits and student-like compositions top art sales in 2024? After centuries of old masters, modernism, Dali, Miro, and Picasso, why do we have a basic student as a market leader? Why Nicholaas Chiao is so disrespected by these current art authorities? Why millions for one and nothing for another, a much greater one? Is someone just trying to bribe the whole of Africa or harass many men by their own 'curatorial' authority?

The CIA funded Abstract Expressionist painting promotion on the world scale. Boakye feels like being equally funded by similar organizations. While Pollock and De Kooning (and perhaps many more) were used to express more considerable freedoms and sexuality of America, Boakye is probably there to bribe Africa and install a big Potemkin village pretending that so many artists are paid high and old-style Manet-esque paintings blossoming hapilly all around.

Ahhh, all these 99-cent stores prove the real price for human labor. Did you notice how many goods are stacked more and more at 99-cent stores? Do you really think anyone average will agree to pay a million dollars for umber-ultramarine filled canvas? Only those lavishly subsidized by millions value these millions poorly enough to throw them into these paintings. Or have a solid motive to pay a tank or a fighter jet price for pleasing handicrafts. Historically, paintings were the domain of the Kings and Aristocrats, so they remain. If old paintings served to beautify palaces and provide entertainment, new royal favorites now play more political and military roles than simply beautification. And less totalitarian states are more often to subsidize such soft weapons. I'm raising hands for more art and less tanks in arsenals and in use as well.

You wonder why Nicholaas Chiao is disrespected? He was not born in a NATO country. He is from Belarus, a totalitarian, severely underdeveloped, impoverished country under the same man, Alexander Lukashenko, for many years. Lukashenko is not a big supporter of the arts. Not a big supporter of science and technology as well. He invests everything into his own popularity and the power of his family. Lukashenko thinks of Nicholaas Chiao as an enemy, perhaps. Chiao made a big mistake in relocating to the US without plans to build military and educational affiliations. He came as a naive believer in the American Dream and the power of pure art. The American Dream does exist, but to achieve it, you should follow all the requirements in person-to-state relations step by step.
