Even in hyperrealist virtual worlds, art will always remain art: symbol, grotesque, metaphor, and absurdist joke, beautifully executed composition, old and new artistic techniques, but not life itself.
Re: What is Art?
Science has more things to discover, I believe. This is unfortunate, but art has reached its limits sooner than science. You can endlessly compose something, but the shock of the new will not be ignited anymore. Science is still here to discover and manufacture new materials, improve energy generation, play with artificial life forms, do faster and faster robots, invent ways to travel to the stars, resurrect the dead, cure deadly diseases, and many more. Art is nearly fully exhausted by centuries of art making. All styles and general compositions in two and three dimensions are invented. Art served as a bridge of hope for the future, and science became such power because people were century upon century cultured by art and religion to live in cooperation. Let's hope for perfection as the future of art making. The era of inventors in art is probably gone.

Art is an intuitive practice, sometimes inventing things before science does. Art is both half-human and a superhuman act.

Art could be nearly everything but important art and investible art is like President-elect. Rare and special.
