Who else is watching the meteoric rise of once Gagosian girlfriend Anna Weyant? Any thoughts on this artist?

She is too young to be real. John Currin & Rene Magritte married in eternal love. Will she last for 10 years more? The art world is rude and cruel, I'm not sure that after Gagosian is gone she will be able to keep up by herself. But who knows? I like her old-masterish still lifes the most. And some portraits are quite strong paintings.

Anna Weyant is certainly a good resurrection of the best of John Currin and a bit of Rene Magritte. Her early still lifes impress with the simplistic beauty of good classical painting in brownish color schemes. Her early portraits are also a good and cozy approach to themes. She has transferred her world of a young beautiful modern girl, into the world of art well. Yes, if the gallery world does not squeeze her like a lemon with the demand for periodic exhibitions, as the gallery world has killed many artists, we look with interest at her career prospects and the future of her youtful dreamy world in new canvases in the classical and more experimental traditions.
