Collecting with Artsy.net

What makes people collect Art? How are some objects of beauty transformed into social idols and priceless totems? Art, as the highest value, can control consciousness and manage society no worse than the Presidents themselves. Art that sells for a lot of money and is well-known to everyone gives birth to a huge number of imitators and largely shapes society and its aesthetic, moral, and financial values. Do you collect Art? What is included in your collection, and how did you start? Does the cost of your collection and its value as an investment matter to you, or is it a purely personal value that you never plan to part with? Art can rise and fall in price, but museum collections are usually stable for decades. What do museums and your relationships with them mean to you? Are you ready to donate to and encourage museums to position your collection? You may have a private museum or foundation. Maybe you are not that rich, and your collection is limited to catalogs and posters. Whoever you are, if you collect, discuss it here!
